Following the success of the first week after launch, boardgame adapation for PC is upgraded
We are happy to announce today, along with Western Civilization Software (www.west-civ.com) and with Uwe Eickert (www.academy-games.com), the release of the 1.2 patch for the tactical turn-based World War II game Conflict of Heroes: Awakening the Bear!. The small patch contains improved AI scripting for the Nutcracker scenario, as well as added support for PS2.0 shaders.
The support for PS2.0 shaders will allow for a wider range of laptops to get increased performance and playability for Conflict of Heroes. To download the patch either run “Check for Update” via the game menu or via download link here.
About Conflict of Heroes: Awakening the Bear!
Set on the Eastern Front during Operation Barbarossa, Conflict of Heroes: Awakening the Bear! tasks players with commanding German or Russian forces between 1941-1942, complete with a historical roster of infantry, armor and artillery units. Players will be able to command the board while using either traditional chit-style graphics or 3D units, as well as either a flexible 3D camera view or top-down 2D view.
Wargamers will have to rely on realistic military tactics to win not only against the AI but also against human players using the in-game multiplayer server complete with a forum for matchmaking and a real-time chat lobby. Conflict of Heroes: Awakening the Bear! is loaded with scenarios, ten from original board game in “Awakening the Bear Firefights”, as well as 16 new scenarios along with a very flexible “point-buy” scenario on “Partisan Road”. Players will have a multitude of firefight to keep themselves busy, as well as a scenario and map editor to create more!

We are excited to announce that Battle Academy on iPad hit the top 10 in the iPad Quality Index Chart for April! This wonderful position was reached from the high scores received from around the world from press, making it the number one strategy games in 10 stores.

The iPad Quality Index Chart is a site that combs the web for critical opinions from the best websites and turns them into one definitive score for an iPad game. In Battle Academy’s case, the iPad Quality Index Chart put the game at rank 4 with a rating of 8.8!
Players have also helped out in getting the recognition Battle Academy earned. Out of 117 votes in several countries, more than 100 were perfect five-star ratings!

Home of Wargamers Press Event Report
It has now been more than one full week since our “Home of Wargamers” press event has in Stresa, Italy, with our . With a healthy number of press and developers in attendance, as well as our wonderful staff from around the world, the event was a guaranteed success. Responses from those in attendance and those in the social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, and our forums and on other internet sites has been positive, with press sending in requests for more information and access to press packs and trying to get in interview time with our developers and staff!
For us, the use of social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter helped us greatly in getting out information about the press event, as well as announcing titles and information related to them as they came out live. In the period from April 19 to April 25, the Facebook pages for both Matrix Games and Slitherine reached more than 2,500 people, with more than 100 people talking about us directly. Combine with the fact that those people we reached out to and talked about us, was seen by their friends, we have reached numbers even higher. Twitter extended our reach even further, since we have a total of 230 followers at this time. On top of Facebook and Twitter, our forums have been particularly active and responded positively to our announcements. It is hard to say which game the crowds are leaning to, due to the amount of interest and response to them. Suffice to say we believe that all the titles have struck a lot of you guys' interest!
The press we invited out to the event has spent the past few days posting about their experience and about the games we have announced. Below are a few links to these sites that attended and what they posted about.
Overall the press event was a success for us, and we are sure that our future press events will be equally, if not more, exciting and successful.
